A little about...

Roofrack testsession....

We have already tried to tie 2 heavy desks to the rack, so it can take a lot of weight. It says in the old beetle manual that a roofrack like this can take 75kgs. So if there has been a calculated bufferzone on this, it should be good for up to 100kgs.

Here I am already exceeding the max load with 3 kgs in the middle on 2 bars...

.....so we will see what we end up on putting up there....:)

Where to store the luggage...

We have been looking around for a small trailer, since we have some stuff to bring with us ofcourse...:)
After looking at different ad-sites and at trailer-retailers we have found a few that could fit the purpose.
We know that since we pulled "The Mushroom"(our Sprite 400 from 1970) with a lot of load(it probably weighed as much as the car!) we haven't been too concerned about the weight issue. After checking with the toll rules in Norway, which state that we can buy a trailer here, and toll it in at one of the borders(where you will pay 25% of what the trailer was bought for), we came on to a problem. In Portugal you just use the same plate of your car on such a small trailer. In Norway you have to have a separate plate. So all in all we have decided to load up differently so our trailer won't get taken away from us halfway on our journey.

So we have now decided to go from our original option:

                                               ....and discarding this option:

.....and going for THIS OPTION :) :)

...........cause since we have a roofrack, why not use it right...? :)
